Margo Zimmerman excels at everything she tries. She holds three swim team records, is Student Body President, and she has her future all figured out. Until a game of spin the bottle gone awry leads to an epiphany: she’s gay. Feeling off balance in the wake of this realization, Margo is determined to ace her gayness. All she needs is the right tutor.

Abbie Sokoloff has her own gayness down to a science. She’s been out for years and is tapped into the queer community in her suburban Florida town. What she doesn’t have is a passing grade in US History, threatening her acceptance to her dream school. All she needs is the right tutor.

The two strike a deal: Abbie will teach Margo how to discover her queer identity and in exchange, Margo will help Abbie get her history grade up. Everybody wins.

But as their lessons continue and they spend more and more time together, Margo realizes she doesn’t want just any girl—she wants the girl.
